UC council to meet

Union City’s city council will meet Tuesday evening in the Municipal Building courtroom at 5:30 p.m.
The agenda includes nominations and/or appointments to the Planning Commission; first readings of ordinances to amend Title 15, providing for automated traffic signal and speed limit enforcement systems, and to amend Title 15 to provide for speed limits in school zones; action on an agreement between the City of Union City and Redflex Traffic Systems for a photo red light and speed enforcement program; adoption of updates for job descriptions for foreman II/Street Department, laborer/Street Department and maintenance construction laborer/Water and Sewer Department; bid awards for a knuckle-boom truck and street sweeper; authorization to appropriate funds for the purchase of sound equipment through Lowrance Sound for the Union City Civic Auditorium; authorization for the police department to proceed with requirements for establishing a Union City Driving School; authorization for building alteration at the former Miles School for Head Start; update on a street rehab project; and review of the minutes of the Planning Commission minutes from April 15.
The council will also hear grievances and/or complaints from the public and will receive the mayor’s report.
The meeting is open to the public.
Public meetings are regularly held the first and third Tuesdays of each month.
