| Wills and Colt bring home the 'Crown' |

CROWN CHAMPIONS – Bobby Wills of Greenfield and his canine partner, Colt brought home the highest honors bestowed from the 2010 Super Retriever Series Crown Championship held in Arkansas over the weekend. The pair was named SRS Crown Champions and the 2010 Avery Sporting Dog Team of the Year.
Bobby Wills of Greenfield has spent many years working with retrievers, training them to make the best partner for their masters in the field of hunting.
As a dog handler and owner of Lone Oak Kennels, Wills has traveled to a variety of events offered by the Super Retriever Series.
After last weekend, that dedication and hard work with his canines have paid off. Wills claimed the 2010 Super Retriever Series Crown Championship and he and his partner Colt, were named the 2010 Avery Sporting Dog team of the Year after competing against handlers and their retrievers from around the world in Stuttgart, Ark.
Colt 45 II (Colt) is owned by Paul Wilson of Atwood and Tommy Smith of Henderson.
To qualify for the Crown, a team must finish in the Top 3 at one of the SRS qualifying events held throughout the year. In 2009, Wills and his partner Colt brought home the Avery Sporting Dog Cup Championship. Wills carried three qualifying retrievers with him to Arkansas last weekend.
The Super Retriever Series is now in its 11th year. The series offers trainers and the canines a chance to compete in various events including:
• SRS Retriever Trials, which are hybrid events that combine elements of traditional field trials and hunt tests with real world hunting scenarios to determine the best all around retrievers in the world.
• Super Fly is the canine equivalent of the long jump. The dogs run down a 40-foot dock and leap into a pool and clear distances of almost 29 feet. Jump are measured by an electronic scoring system and the longest jumper wins.
• Super V is the canine equivalent of the high jump. Using the same 40-foot dock as Super Fly, the dogs go vertical and take aim at a bumper that’s suspended 8 feet from the dock. The highest jumper wins.
The Crown Championship will air on the Versus Network.
