Gleason Gridiron Stars — Gleason High School took time to recognize the 2009 Bulldog football team at the school’s annual athletic banquet last month. Players singled out for individual recognition were (front, from left) Conner Verdell, Most Improved; Cody Ezell, Best Defensive Back; Nicky Spain, Best Offensive Back and Most Valuable Player; (back, from left) Matt Mayo, Hitter of the Year; Ben Sumner, Best Receiver; and James Owen, Best Defensive Lineman.
