Holder receives two higher education technology awards

The Press 6.22.10 Larry Holder, University of Tennessee at Martin Information Technology Services application developer and database administrator, recently received two awards.
Larry Holder, right, was presented the 2010 Merit Award from SunGard Higher Education a a conference in April and the 2010 Distinguised Service Award at the Tennessee Higher Education Information Technology conference.
The 2010 Merit Award from SunGard Higher Education was presented to Holder, right, at the 2010 SunGard Summit conference in April, in recognition of his contributions to the Community Source Initiative.
He currently serves as a charter member of the board of directors, as well as the leader of the Banner Technical Review Committee. He was invited to become an early participant in the initiative by Jack Kramer, SunGard Higher Education vice president, who presented the award.
Holder also received the 2010 Distinguished Service Award at the annual conference for Tennessee Higher Education Information Technology, held at Fall Creek Falls State Park.
This award recognizes one person each year, who has contributed significantly to the progress of information technology across the state.
Holder has been instrumental in the statewide implementation of the Banner student information system, sharing knowledge and advice with the University of Tennessee Chattanooga, Knoxville and Memphis campuses, as well as with many of the public universities under the umbrella of the Tennessee Board of Regents, including Tennessee Tech, the University of Memphis and Jackson State Community College.
Holder has been employed at UT Martin for the past 22 years of his 28-year career in the profession.
