Baby walker, dog vitamins recalled

Posted: Thursday, June 24, 2010 8:02 pm

By The Associated Press
About 8,400 baby walkers, manufactured in China and imported by Suntech Enterprises Inc. of Commerce, Calif., have been recalled because they lack sufficient mechanisms to prevent them from falling downstairs.
Also, the walkers can fit through standard doorways, so their size doesn’t prevent them from entering rooms with stair access. No incidents have been reported.
The walkers were sold at small juvenile product stores in California, Illinois, New York and Texas from January 2007 through December 2009. Details: by phone at 888-268-8139; by web at http://www.cpsc.gov.

United Pet Group is recalling all unexpired lots of its Pro-Pet Adult Daily Vitamin supplement tablets for dogs because they may be contaminated with salmonella.
The company said pets with salmonella infections may be lethargic and have diarrhea, fever and vomiting. Some will have only decreased appetite, fever and abdominal pain.
People who handle contaminated dry pet food can become infected with salmonella, especially if they haven’t thoroughly washed their hands.
The Cincinnati company said it received a report of a dog that became ill after eating the product. There have been no reported incidents involving people. The vitamin products have expiration dates on or before June 2013, and they were sold nationwide at various retailers.
For more information, consumers can call 800-645-5154.
