| THP plans weekend sobriety roadblocks |

The Tennessee Highway Patrol will be conducting Sobriety Checkpoints Roadblocks on Friday, Aug. 20, in Weakley and Gibson counties.
Recognizing the danger presented to the public by intoxicated drivers, troopers will concentrate their efforts on vehicles being operated by drivers who would violate the law by operating under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, according to a release issued by the THP.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol has found these Sobriety Checkpoint Roadblocks to be an affective means of enforcing the Driving Under the Influence statutes of Tennessee while ensuring the protection of all motorists.
