An Obion County student has been awarded a scholarship for the 2010-11 academic year to attend the University of Tennessee at Martin.
Katelyn Black of Troy, daughter of Charles Black of Charlotte and Dianne Black of Martin, will be a sophomore. She received the University of Tennessee Alumni Association Transfer Scholarship.

Two local students have earned recognition for their academic work by being named to the West Kentucky Community & Technical College Dean’s List for the spring semester.
The honorees include Sarah Roberson and Allyson Gray.
