UT Martin faculty appointments announced at annual fall meeting

WCP 8.31.10 A number of faculty members have been appointed at the University of Tennessee at Martin for the fall semester.
They were introduced at the annual fall faculty meeting. Classes begin Aug. 30.
“One of the highlights of my job is interviewing faculty candidates, and this year’s new faculty will be outstanding additions to the instructional team,” said Dr. Jerald Ogg, vice chancellor for academic affairs. 
“They are committed to our mission and to making a difference in the lives of our students.
“Hires like this would not happen without the efforts of the search committees, department chairs and deans who worked so diligently to recruit these exceptional scholars. UT Martin is a tremendous place to work, and we were fortunate to attract individuals who are as excited as we are about the opportunity to serve this region,” Ogg added.
Among faculty members recognized at the meeting were: Shirley J. Borden, lecturer of finance, Department of Accounting, Finance, Economics, and International Business; Dr. Donna M. Byers, assistant professor of biology, Department of Biological Sciences; Dr. Stuart M. Currie, assistant professor of human performance, Department of Health and Human Performance; Dr. David C. Dietrich, assistant professor of counseling, Department of Educational Studies; Jason D. Duggin, lecturer of animal science, Department of Agriculture, Geosciences, and Natural Resources (term); Dr. Samuel C. Faught, lecturer of management, Department of Management, Marketing, Computer Science, and Information Systems; Ashley L. Goulder, lecturer of English, Department of English and Modern Foreign Languages; and Dr. Jack W. Grubaugh, chair and professor of Biology, Department of Biological Sciences.
Others were: Dr. Susan L. Hamilton, lecturer of mathematics, Department of Mathematics and Statistics; Dr. Daphne M. Henderson, assistant professor of social work, Department of Behavioral Sciences; Dr. Benjamin P. Hooks, assistant professor of geology, Department of Agriculture, Geosciences, and Natural Resources; Brandy Hudson, instructor of Tennessee Intensive English Programs (term), Center for International Education; Dr. Eunju Hwang, assistant professor of interior design, Department of Family and Consumer Sciences; Mary Grace Jubb, laboratory instructor for geology, Department of Agriculture, Geosciences, and Natural Resources; Renee A. LaFleur, lecturer of history, Department of History and Philosophy; Dr. Malcolm Koch, executive director, Center for International Education; Dr. Lisa M. Krueger, assistant professor of biology, Department of Biological Sciences; Capt. Stephen Love, instructor of military science, Department of Military Science and Leadership; Lt. Col. Timothy Marshall, professor of military science and chair, Department of Military Science and Leadership; Dr. Bryan M. Parsons, assistant professor of political science, Department of Accounting, Finance, Economics, and International Business; and Marlow E. Peters, lecturer of library science, Paul Meek Library; Janice Routon, instructor of Tennessee Intensive English Programs, Center for International Education.
Rounding out the list were: Dr. Phillip A. Shelton, assistant professor of chemistry, Department of Chemistry and Physics; Dr. Todd E. Sherman, assistant professor of human performance, Department of Human Performance; Dr. Terry A. Silver, lecturer of education, Department of Educational Studies; Matthew C. Stratton, instructor of music, Department of Music; Dr. Katherine A. Stumpo, assistant professor of chemistry, Department of Chemistry and Physics; Dr. Jared A. Teague, assistant professor of engineering, Department of Engineering; Ashley Thompson, assistant equestrian coach, Department of Agriculture, Geosciences, and Natural Resources; Dr. Krishnamurthy V. Vemuru, lecturer of chemistry, Department of Chemistry and Physics; Dr. Johnathan R. Vest, assistant professor of music, Department of Music; Dr. Mary K.
