Candidates to visit

The University of Tennessee at Martin College Democrats, Young Republicans and the Institute for Civic Engagement, along with the Martin Rotary Club, are sponsoring candidates on campus this month.
All presentations are in Watkins Auditorium of Boling University Center and are open to the public.
Candidates for the Eighth Congressional District seat will be making presentations. They will include Democrat Roy Herron at 12:15 p.m. Sept. 16; Independent Donn Janes at 1 p.m. Sept. 23; and Republican Stephen Fincher at 12:15 p.m. Sept. 30. The Rotary Club is co-sponsoring the Herron and Fincher visits and the campus groups are co-sponsoring all three presentations.

The University of Tennessee at Martin does not support or oppose any of the political candidates running for the Eighth Congressional District seat, a spokesman said.
