Homecoming planned
Homecoming at Liberty Baptist Church on the corner of Middle Road and Highway 781 South will be Sunday. Tommy Harrison will bring the message at 11 a.m. and The Borders Family will sing at 1:30. The public is invited to attend.

Singing Convention set
The Weakley County Singing Convention will be held at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church Saturday at 7 p.m. The church is located just off Paris Highway 54.
All singers, piano players, soloists, directors and fans are invited to attend, a spokesman said.

To host benefit singing
The Warren Douglas family will benefit from a singing planned at Wynnburg Baptist Church Oct. 9.
There will be a cake and pie auction from 6-6:45 p.m. in the fellowship hall, followed by music from groups including Living Truth, Blessed Assurance and The Vancleaves.
The public is invited to attend.

Soul Food event set
Exchange Street Church of Christ is hosting its one- year celebration of Soul Food Café Wednesday starting at 5:30 p.m.
“Come join us for a night of Mexican food and karaoke. As always, the meal is free to everyone,” a spokesman said.

Old-fashioned Day set
A brush arbor and a congregation outfitted in bib overalls, big aprons, long skirts and hats will help mark Bashan Baptist Church’s celebration of Old-fashioned Day Sunday at the church in Rives.
Following the 11 a.m. worship service, there will be a luncheon and a program to follow, with the Rev. Bob Smith of Miles Chapel in Martin as speaker.
The public is invited to attend. The Rev. Rozelle Dotstry is pastor.

Revival to begin
Sunswept Baptist Church will welcome the Rev. Randy Poole as evangelist and Bud and Barbara Lee’s ministry in music Sunday through Wednesday at 205 Sunswept Drive in Union City. The revival’s theme will be “Victory in Jesus,” and services will be at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday and 7 week nights.
The Rev. James Kinsey is the pastor.

To sell chitt’lin’s
PEOC Ministry, located at 1304 East Main St. in Union City, will sell chitt’lin’ plates that will include cole slaw, white beans, dessert and beverage for $7.50 beginning 11 a.m. Saturday.
Free delivery is available for those who call 335-5129.

To mark Men’s Day
Jacksonville Free Will Baptist Church, located at 202 College St. in South Fulton, will mark Men’s Day Sunday at 3 p.m.
The Rev. Marvin Mays and his congregation from New Mount Zion Free Will Baptist Church will be special guests and he will be the speaker.
Elder James Watford and the congregation invite the community to attend.

Revival planned
Fulton Cumberland Presbyterian Church, located at 1159 Parker Road in South Fulton, will host a revival beginning Sunday at 6 p.m. and continuing through Wednesday at 7 each week day evening. Dr. Bobby Williams will be the evangelist.
The community is invited to attend.

Celebrating homecoming
Lake Road Baptist Church will be celebrating homecoming Sunday. 
“Everyone is invited to come worship with us on this special day and enjoy fellowship during the meal, which will follow the morning service,” said the pastor, the Rev. Chip Davis.
Sunday school starts at 10 a.m., with the worship service beginning at 11. 
The church is located at 1366 East Highway 22 near Union City.

Fall revival set
Harmony Baptist Church, located at 925 Palmersville Highway 89 near Dresden, will begin a fall revival Sunday and will continue through Wednesday at 6 each evening. The Rev. Gerry Gallimore of Gearin’s Chapel Baptist Church will be the evangelist. There will be a “lite” fellowship meal following the service Wednesday.
The Rev. Billy Crowell is pastor.

To begin revival
New Concord Baptist Church near Kenton will begin revival services Sunday, with worship at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. A potluck meal will follow the morning service.
Services will continue Monday through Wednesday at 7 p.m., with a special event planned for each evening.
The Rev. Danny Klutts will be the evangelist and the song leader will be Leo Wainscott, with Sheila Gunnells serving as pianist.
The Rev. Johnny Witherspoon and the congregation invite the community to attend.

Bethel events set
Bethel Baptist Church will welcome the Rev. Charles Southerland for preaching at 5 p.m. Saturday, with the monthly singing and fellowship to follow.
The church will provide fish and hamburgers and those attending are invited to bring side dishes and to take part in the special services planned.
