Program to honor vets

Black Oak School will host a Veterans Day program Nov. 11 at 9 a.m. in the school gym. Active military, veterans and family members of those serving or of veterans are invited. Those planning to attend are asked to contact the school at 538-2271 to provide the name of the service members to be honored, the years of service and military branch and military operations the soldier may have been involved in. This information should be received by Thursday to allow the school time to use it in the program and also to give the organizers an idea how many will be sharing a light breakfast at the school at 8:30, a spokesman said.
Groups taking part in the program will include children in grades third through fifth, Boy Scouts, Black Oak Chorus and the Junior High Band.
