The 3rd Annual Veterans Parade will kick off this Saturday at 10 a.m. in Martin.
The annual event is sponsored by local, non-profit organization Rolling Thunder® TN Chapter 6.
The organization works to spread awareness of veterans affairs and POW/MIA issues and spends time with the veterans at the Humbolt Veterans Home.
There are no fees to participate in the parade. Event organizer Patricia Laird said the goal is to line the streets of Martin with supporters while having numerous entries in a show of gratitude for enlisted personnel and area veterans. Rides in the parade are available for veterans. A ceremony to properly dispose of flags will also take place immediately following the parade in downtown Martin at Festival Park near the gazebo.
Parade line-up begins at 9 a.m. at Hardy-Graham Stadium parking lot. The route will follow University Street to Lindell Street.
