SCV meet planned

The Sons of Confederate Veterans local camp 176 will meet for a regular session Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Obion County Museum on Edwards Street in Union City. Randy Bishop of Middleton, a member of the Tippah Tigers SCV Camp in Ripley, Miss., will provide a look at his third book, “Mississippi’s Civil War Battlefields.” He will also offer a review of his previous books, “The Tennessee Brigade” and “Tennessee’s Civil War Battlefields.” Copies of the books will be available for purchase.
The SCV works in conjunction with other historical groups to preserve Confederate history. It is not affiliated with any other group. The SCV rejects any group whose actions tarnish or distort the image of the Confederate soldier or his reasons for fighting.
