Press 11/11: Jacob Thomas Milam of South Fulton recently completed training with the United States Army as a Cavalry Scout at Fort Knox, Ky. The 16-week program of one station unit training included Basic Soldiering Skills and Advanced Individual Training. Primarily field combined with classroom training, Cavalry Scouts are designed to be the eyes and ears for the Commander on the battlefield. Pvt. Milam was with the Delta Troop, 5th Squadron, 15th Cavalry, 3rd Platoon Predators while at Fort Knox. Pvt. Milam is currently stationed at Fort Hood, Texas and is a part of the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division. Pvt. Milam is the son of Dale and Lisa Hollowell of South Fulton and Richard and Sherry Milam of Sharon. He is the grandson of Kay Usery of Dresden, the late Ronnie Travis, Mary Milam of Greenfield, the late Frank Milam of Sharon, and J.W. and Patsy Hollowell of Huntingdon.
