Staff Reporter
Local authorities raided a suspected meth lab on Wade Wiley Road earlier this week and made eight arrests in connection with the raid.
According to Chief Deputy Kent Treece with the Obion County Sheriff’s Department, several deputies assisted officers with the 27th Judicial District Drug Task Force on the raid.
The raid was initiated by officers with the local drug task force, who secured a search warrant for the residence at 1849 Wade Wiley Road. It was about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday when law enforcement officials converged on the residence.
Wade Wiley Road is located off Walker Tanner Road just southwest of Union City.
Arrested in the drug raid were Mark Randall Hinson, 47, Eric Scott Hinson, 31, Dalton Trey Hinson, 24, Darlene Donnell, 45, Elizabeth Kay Ward, 28, and Lara Moshia Ward, 31, all of Union City; and Laura Wynette Evans, 36, and Martie Nicole Hamlin, 38, both of Eaton.
All those arrested were charged with promotion of manufacture of methamphetamine, manufacture of a Schedule II controlled substance (methamphetamine), and possession of a Schedule II controlled substance (methamphetamine).
Treece said ingredients and equipment used to manufacture methamphetamine were recovered at the scene, as well as the finished product.
Each of the three charges levied against the suspects is a Class B felony.
All eight suspects were arraigned Wednesday afternoon at the Obion County Law Enforcement Complex. Each of the suspects was given $50,000 bond at their arraignment, except for Ms. Donnell, who was given a $10,000 bond.
A preliminary hearing for the eight suspects has been set for 10 a.m. Thursday at the Obion County Courthouse.
Seven of the eight suspects were still being held in the Obion County Law Enforcement Complex as of this morning. Ms. Donnell has been released on bond.
