FAFSA Fever set at Dyersburg State

For the third year, Dyersburg State Community College will present its FAFSA Fever campaign.
If 1,000 DSCC students — including DSCC’s dual enrollment students — file their Federal Application for Free Student Aid (FAFSA) by Jan. 31, the college will award $100 to 10 DSCC students through a random drawing of those who have filed.
Winners will be announced at the FAFSA Fever celebration Feb. 5 at the DSCC basketball game.
DSCC began the FAFSA Fever campaign to help students get their FAFSAs filed.
To be eligible for financial aid (Tennessee Student Assistance Award, Federal Pell Grant, the Tennessee Education Lottery Scholar-ship, Federal Work Study, Federal Supplemental Edu-cational Opportunity Grant and other scholarship or work study program awards) at DSCC or any other college, students must file their FAFSA. Many awards are made on a first-come, first-serve basis and funding is limited. If an application is not filed as early as possible, the student may not even have a chance to receive some of these funds.
Filing the FAFSA is particularly important to DSCC students as roughly 70 percent of the student body receives some sort of financial aid.
In addition to the drawing, on Jan. 21 and Jan. 28, DSCC will present special FAFSA Fever programs geared to help students learn about FAFSA filing and financial aid opportunities. These programs are open to everyone and will be held in the Learning Resource Center on the Dyersburg campus from 11 a.m. to noon.
For more information about filing the FAFSA or FAFSA Fever, call the DSCC financial aid office at (731) 286-3263.
