Mrs. Bloebaum hosts Delphian Review

Posted: Thursday, January 20, 2011 8:01 pm

The Delphian Review Club met recently at the home of Carolyn Bloebaum.
The “thought for the day” was read by Mrs. Bloebaum. Sixteen members answered roll call. Minutes were read and approved and the treasurer’s report was given.
Jenny Kirkland introduced guest speaker Larry Snider, marketing consultant of Discovery Park of America, who reported on the progress and updates of the 50-acre complex. Its expected completion date is in early 2013.
Education is the primary goal of this park with about 4,000 square feet of rotating exhibitions, with space and dinosaur science mentioned as a special draws for possible school-day trips.
Twenty-five committees involving more than 250 people are involved in the plans for Discovery Park.
Illustrations were shown of the Grand Hall, exhibition hall and tower that is 150 feet off the ground and will have a panoramic view of the area. An old gristmill and water garden and historic buildings were just some of the features reviewed.
Caramel pie and coffee were served for dessert by Laura Denaburg.
