Posted: Monday, January 24, 2011 8:01 pm

First State Bank has announced the hiring of Mary Ellen Moore as a paralegal.
Mrs. Moore will work out of the bank’s loan operation center at 221 Harrison St., Union City, and will be responsible for handling varous legal aspects for First State Bank.
Mrs. Moore graduated from Dyersburg State Community College with an associate’s degree in political science and a minor in criminal justice. In 2006 she became a paralegal.
She began her paralegal career as a legal assistant with Fowler, Prince and Webb in Union City and then worked as a paralegal for Martin attorney Jeffrey W. Parham.
Mrs. Moore is actively involved in the Lake Road Parent Teacher Organization. She lives in Union City with her husband, Mike, and her son.
“I am pleased to have Mary Ellen join our First State team,” Robb Newbill said.
He is vice president of the bank’s credit administration department.
“Mary Ellen’s 14 years of experience working in the legal profession, coupled with her teamwork skills, will be a great asset to First State,” he said.
“I am excited about the opportunity to assist First State in this capacity,” Mrs. Moore said. “First State is a fast-growing community bank with strong ties to each community they are involved in. I look forward to working for this great company.”
First State Bank has 27 full-service banking locations in 22 communities across Tennessee. First State Bank is owned by Community First Bancshares Inc., a holding company headquartered in Union City.
The holding company operates a mortgage, consumer finance and insurance company and also has a specialized ag services and employee benefits division, investment services, and an indirect auto financing division at various locations across the state.
The banking company currently has assets totaling more than $1.4 billion. The banking company has offices in 13 counties in Tennessee and has locations in seven metropolitan markets in the state.
