UC council to meet

The Union City city council will meet Tuesday evening at 5:30 in the courtroom of the Union City Municipal Building.
The agenda includes appointments to the Personnel Advisory Board, the Industrial Development Board, the City Beautiful Commission and the Health, Education and Housing Facility Corporation Board; a review, recommendation and bid award for vehicle purchases for the parks department, public works and the water department; a resolution authorizing the issuance of interest bearing street sweeper capital outlay notes not to exceed $176,389; resolutions requesting TDOT to raise the speed limit to 50 miles per hour on Everett Boulevard from log mile 17.62 (Reelfoot Avenue) to log mile 20.91 (Clover Street) and accepting a proposal from TDOT for the construction of Highway 45W from Allie Campbell Road to U.S. 51; a request for authorization to contract with Wauford Engineering for contract services of the Airport Road Utility Relocation Project (not to exceed $27,000 in engineering costs); authorization to solicit bids for the relocation of utilities of the Airport Road construction project; consideration and/or authorization to solicit bids for the farming of city land at the wastewater plant; the scheduling of a special meeting Feb. 22 for bid awards for the walking track and airport road; miscellaneous business; and the recognition of visitors to hear grievances and/or complaints.
Public meetings are regularly held the first and third Tuesdays of each month and all sessions are open to the public.
