A Weakley County man will have his day in court upon maintaining a not guilty plea in two methamphetamine-related charges.

Thursday morning in Weakley County Circuit Court, Thomas Koker was given a preliminary hearing on charges of initiate manufacture of methamphetamine and simple possession and chose to go to trial. 

According to a report from the Weakley County Circuit Court office, on Sept. 14, 2010, Koker initiated a process intended to result in the manufacture of methamphetamine by beginning the extraction of an immediate methamphetamine precursor from a commercial product and beginning the active modification of a commercial product for use in methamphetamine creation. 

This violates T.C.A. 39-17-435 and is a Class B felony. Additionally, the report stated that on Sept. 14, 2010, Koker did unlawfully and knowingly possess methamphetamine which is a violation of T.C.A. 39-17-418 (a) and is a Class A misdemeanor simple possession.

Koker’s trial is schedule for Wednesday, April 6 in Weakley County Circuit Court.
