Education seminar scheduled

“Growing Readers: Inspiring Thinkers and Learners,” an interactive lecture for educators or future educators on how to grow readers who choose to read, is slated from 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Watkins Auditorium of Boling University Center.
Sponsors for the seminar are the Jessa Coe Stanford Memorial Education Seminar Endowment Fund and the University of Tennessee at Martin College of Education and Behavioral Sciences.
Dr. Tammy Lipsey of Franklin will be the keynote speaker for the evening. The event is free and open to the public.
Dr. Lipsey is the Metro Nashville Public School System Reading Clinics district coordinator. She serves as the liaison for the Tennessee Literacy Partnership, which currently includes six local universities working in the district’s six school-based reading clinics. She holds a doctor of education in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis in reading from Tennessee State University.
