Abundant Life Assembly of God – Sharon

Posted: Friday, March 11, 2011 8:01 pm
By: Mary M. Jones

Bro. Bobby Peal opened service singing “Power In the Blood.”

Edna Johle taught from Hebrews 2:18 which says for in that he himself (Christ) hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succor them that are tempted. Christians experience victory over temptation by following the example of Jesus Christ.

We had a change collection to fill the baby bottles for Agape House with the children doing the filling of the nine bottles. They helped lead “What A Mighty God” and “Glory Glory.” Mary then led “I Can’t Feel At Home In This World” and “Keep On the Firing Line.”

There were no birthdays or anniversaries this week, so Bro. Bobby took prayer requests for healings, lost families and for the ones absent from service.

Phyllis Hampton sang “Someone To Care,” Patsy Baker sang “The Shepherd Of My Valley” and Harold Roberts sang “How Great Thou Art.”

Bro. Bobby turned to Galatians 5:22-23 to speak on Christianity. Every decision we make we should trust in God for His guidance. Romans 12:1-2 tells us to live our lives according to the scriptures, not conforming to the world and its pleasures.

We opened evening service with Mary leading “The Old Gospel Ship,” “Just Over In Glory-Land” and “Oh, I Want To See Him.” Patsy sang “Please Forgive Me” and Nickie Hampton sang “Mercy Walked In.”

Bro. Bobby welcomed visitors Mae Kruse, Candy and Keith Harris. Candy sang and played piano for “If That Is Enough.” Harold Roberts sang “Burdens Are Lifted Away” and Martha Kotarba sang “Sheltered In the Arms Of God.”

Bro. Harold Roberts brought the message from Matthew 28:5 referring to the angel who told the woman at the tomb that Jesus wasn’t there, but risen, as He said. Whatever God has promised us; He will do for He wants us to trust Him. Don’t fear for He is always there for whatever needs you may have.

Ladies our meeting is Saturday, March 12 at 12:30 p.m. in our fellowship hall.
