Once again as a reminder Sharon Public Library now has Facebook! Check us out and click the “like” button. We also have a new website where we will also be posting events. Check us out at www.sharonlibrary.moonfruit.com. Don’t forget our Summer Reading Program Registration will be starting on May 20.
The Library continues to offer faxing and copying for a minimal fee. We also offer free paper shredding and free Wi-Fi.
This past week I had the privilege to attend TLA in Murfreesboro, actually learned some new and exciting things. While I was gone the library continued with business as usual.
The children enjoyed story time provided by Brian Alexander. He read and acted the part of “Skippy Jon Jones”
Betty Cannon entertained the children with a counting story. Please bring your children by on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. for our story time.
The library and the City of Sharon will be hosting an Open House in honor of Ezra Howard Day April 10 from 2 p.m.-4 p.m.
We look forward to our next author visit from Otis Griffin the author of “Southern Raisin.” He will be with us on April 30.
We have received several new young adult series as well as some off the New York Times Best Sellers list this week. The Book Buzz met and discussed 46 titles. The Book Buzz’s next meeting is April 28 at 1:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to come join our book club.
We appreciate the new donations we received this week. Danny and Diane Lackey of the Sharon Hardware Store donated a new lamp to the library this week. The library also has several different Community items for sale, “The Last 100 Years of Sharon,” Sharon 1997 Annuals and our Sharon Afghans.
Please stop by to check out our ongoing book sale new books are added weekly. Don’t forget about our recycling. We are now taking ink jet cartridges, old cell phones and laser jet cartridges for recycling.
The City of Sharon also has a trailer set up for recycling paper, cardboard, electronics and aluminum.
For more library information please call 456-2707.
