Wow! What can we say; it was a very pleasant week! The residents are loving this warmer weather.  Everyone is venturing outside on the front porch to soak up that sunshine!  This warmer weather is making everybody happy and feeling good around here.  Everyone is all smiles!
A quick reminder to all.  This Saturday the 16th at 9:00 am, we will be hosting a community wide Easter Egg Hunt!  All is invited to attend.  Plenty of eggs to be found!  We will award those who find the Gold and Silver eggs.  So Come One Come All!  It will be a great family event!
We had lots of fun activities this past week!  Our first game was a good communication and reminiscing game.  Toss n’ Talk is a Hillview favorite!  All kinds of things are discussed during this time.   Topics from their favorite ice cream toppings to naming the different animals in the Safari.  Our second game was called Ladder Ball.  The residents tried their hardest to throw the stringed balls and wrap them around the ladder rungs.   Our top winner was Helen Jacoby with a winning 23 points.  Following close behind her was Hugh Taylor with 21 points and Mabel Williams with 20 points.  The residents had fun playing Horseshoes as well this week.  It’s an old fun game that everyone enjoys.  Coming in first place was Michael Louie with a total of 11 points, James McLeod scored 10 points, and Hugh Taylor got 8 points!  Our last physical game we played last week was called Bucket Drop.  They had to try and bounce small balls into buckets that were worth 5, 10, and 15 points.  Taking the top of the leader board was Anthony Edmonston with 30 points, James McLeod took the second spot with 25 points, and Michael Louie came in third place with 24 points.  The last game we played Price Is Right!  Residents had to guess how much three items cost.  Whoever guessed closest to the right amount, they won that item!  Mr. Harold Scherfel got the privilege of winning the flower shaped sugar cookie.  Terry Henderson won a very nice picture album and Helen Jacoby guessed right on the money to win a Kitty Cat jigsaw puzzle.
We were proud to have Bro. Tom Spellings come and join us this past week.  He brightens the atmosphere as he plays his guitar and sings.
Bro. Tom always has a good devotional for the residents and they enjoy hearing him sing good old gospel hymns.  We were also happy to have another singing group with us last.  The Martingayles came to sing and play the lovely piano.
The residents enjoy these times when volunteers come in to fellowship and just visit with them.   Every Sunday we have the First Baptist Church and Bible Union to come and hold worship services with our residents.  We greatly appreciate those folks coming out and sharing the Good News!
If anyone or church would like to come out and provide a worship service, entertainment, or just come to visit our residents please contact the Activity Director at 364-2450. Thanks!
