Students study newspapers

To The Editor:
I am in Mrs. Hall’s 4th grade reading class. We have been doing a newspaper unit. I have learned that people write to complain, thank and much more. I wanted to say thank you. My class will be going to The Messenger. Thank you again.

her gratitude

I’m in Mrs. Katie Hall’s fourth-grade reading class, and I just want to say thank you for letting us have these newspapers. I’m really enjoying reading these newspapers. Thanks again for letting us use these newspapers.

Student warns
of carelessness
To The Editor:
I recently did a project about endangered sea turtles. During this unit, I learned that many people are careless. The reason I say this is because many people throw trash into the water and sea animals mistake it for their afternoon snack. I also learned that not many people care. I would also like to ask that all of your readers to take part in ocean clean-ups and great organizations.

To The Editor:
In Mrs. Hall’s fourth-grade-reading class at UCES we are having a newspaper project. It has helped me learn more about the disasters in Japan. I also want to give a special thanks to them for giving us the newspapers for our class.

Student grateful
for newspaper
To The Editor:
I am in Mrs. Katie Hall’s fourth grade advanced reading class at Union City Elementary School and we have recently been learning about newspapers, including the letter to the editor. It has been very fun and I would like to thank you for printing the newspapers for us and everyone else in the town.

BMH-UC staff
deserves praise
To The Editor:
I recently had minor out-patient surgery at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City. I wanted to publicly praise the doctors, nurses and the entire staff in the out-patient department for the quality of care I received during my short stay.
As a life-long member of the Obion County community, this wasn’t the first time I’ve been in contact with BMH-UC and their out-patient department. Not only was I pleased with the quality of care I received, I was even more impressed with the improvements that have been made in that department since my last visit a few years ago.
If I had to grade them on their service, professionalism and level of care, I’d give them one hundreds all across the board.
A few years ago, a former writer for The Messenger challenged our community to “Say Something Good About Obion County.” Well, I can definitely say Obion County is blessed and privileged to have the people and facilities at BMH that counties and communities twice as large can only hope to have.

area very well
To The Editor:
I would like to commend The Messenger for the excellent publication and pictures of the life and political career of my friend, John Tanner.
John’s career was indeed one of distinction and honor. Northwest Tennessee, Obion County, the State of Tennessee and the United States of America will long remember all the great accomplishments John has made in his 35 years of government services.
Best wishes to John and Betty Ann in all their future endeavors.
County Commissioner
