First State to appoint local trust officers

First State recently appointed Joe Brasher, Barry Matthews, and Jennifer Reavis as its new trust officers. They will be responsible for administering estate settlement, custodial, fiduciary, escrow, and trust management services throughout First State’s market area.  
Joe Brasher is community bank president of First State Bank in Sharon, TN located at 142 E. Main Street and can be reached by phone at 731-456-2613. Brasher has been with First State for over 23 years and has 37 years experience in providing financial services to individuals, farmers, and small business customers and clients. He is responsible for the Ag Services division and the Greenfield, Kenton, and Sharon offices of First State Bank, while working in trust services for several years.  
Barry Matthews is vice president of community relations and business development for First State along with his new position as a trust officer. He is located in Jackson  at the First State location on 480 Oil Well Road and can be reached by phone at 731-984-7924. He has been with First State since 2007 after serving eleven years as president and CEO of United Way of West Tennessee. Matthews has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Lambuth University. He has passed the CPA exam and is currently completing a three year trust professional development program through Cannon Financial Institute.  
Jennifer Reavis is senior vice president/chief deposit officer. She is located in Union City, TN at the First State corporate office on 115 West Washington Avenue and can be reached by phone at 731-886-8863. Reavis has been with First State for over 30 years and is responsible for the overall management of deposits and non-lending bank products and services including profitability, formulation and adherence to strategic business goals, sales functions and management policies. She has worked with trust services for numerous years.
