The Obion County Museum will host a fund-raising auction Saturday at 1 p.m. at 1004 Edwards St. in Union City. The museum, which is filling an important role in preserving history that is important to residents of this area, is facing some unanticipated expenses with the current building where artifacts are stored. Several fund-raising efforts are under way, with the auction planned as a major project.
Auction items will be on display at the museum beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday and John Lewis will be the auctioneer. A flier with a list of items is available at the museum.
A yard sale will also be in progress that day and concessions will be available, including hot dogs, pizza, chips, snow-cones, soft drinks, lemonade and tea.
For a $2 donation, guests can enjoy a tour of the museum. The rain date for the event is May 7.
