Flooding up in Samburg

Rising floodwaters in Samburg early today have caused city officials to cancel tonight’s Samburg mayor and board of alderman meeting, and Samburg city recorder Mary Swaim said water was flooding into Samburg City Hall shortly before 11 a.m.
She was packing up paperwork as the water level was rising and said she would be heading for higher ground to work.
Samburg city officials met last week to go over a flood evacuation plan. At least two emergency shelters would be used in Union City in the event of an evacuation order.
