To honor mothers
Bells Chapel CME Church, located at 207 North Highland Drive in Fulton, will host a Mother’s Day program Sunday at 3 p.m.
The speaker will be Susan Alford, who is a member of the church.
Elder Martha Granger and the congregation invite the community to attend.

to welcome speaker
Sunday’s guest speaker at Union City Cumberland Presbyterian Church, located at 631 East Church St., will be Jennifer Hayes. 
Her Mother’s Day message will use Luke 24:13-35 as a basis for the sermon titled “Needing Bread.”
The congregation’s prayer service is at 9:15 a.m., with Sunday school at 10, followed by a coffee fellowship known as “Holy Grounds” at 10:40. Worship begins at 11.
The community is invited to attend.

Yard sale planned
Mt.  Zion United Meth-odist Church will host a church-wide yard sale on property at the corner of Edwards and Nelson streets in Union City Saturday from 7 a.m.-2 p.m.
A rain date of May 14 has been set.
Funds raised will go to support mission projects.

Fund raisers set
Bells Chapel CME Church, located at 207 North Highland Drive in Fulton, will host a fund raiser that will include a yard sale and bake sale that will also feature grilled hamburgers and hot dogs Saturday, beginning at 7 a.m., on the church parking lot.
The community is invited to support the effort.

Food pantry opens
Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, located at 1422 Pleasant  Valley Ave. in Union City, will open the congregation’s “One for All” food pantry at the church from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday.
The Rev. Kenny Locke invites all who are in need to take part.

Service canceled
Because of Mother’s Day, a service with another theme set for Sunday at Church of Jesus for All in Union City has been canceled.

Plate lunches offered
Friendship Free Will Baptist Church at 1304 Dr. Martin Luhter King Jr. Drive in Union City will sell plate lunches featuring buffalo fish, white beans, cole slaw and spaghetti Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. Desserts that include fried peach pies will also be available for an additional price.

Yard-bake sale set
House of Prayer Pentecostal Church in Fulton will hold a yard and bake sale at 105 State  Line Road in South Fulton Saturday at 7 a.m. Proceeds will go to the Mother’s Memorial Offering Pledge.

Decoration Day set
Palestine Cemetery on Middle Road near Fulton will have Decoration Day Sunday. Donations for perpetual care or memorials may be sent to Palestine Cemetery, in care of Gwen Browder, 5810 State Route 116 East, Fulton, KY 42041. For more information, call (270) 472-2538.
