Economic initiative unveiled

NASHVILLE (AP) — Gov. Bill Haslam last week unveiled a $50 million initiative to promote innovation across Tennessee to boost the state’s economy.
The initiative is a component of the governor’s Jobs4TN strategy and will be managed by the state Department of Economic and Community Development.
The program dubbed INCITE includes a previously announced $10 million investment in the Memphis Research Consortium and will work in tandem with the state’s TNInvestco and Pathway Lending programs.
