HealthSouth names new CEO

Posted: Wednesday, May 11, 2011 8:01 pm

HealthSouth Cane Creek Rehabilitation Hospital has named Eric Garrard as chief executive officer, responsible for managing operations at the hospital.
Garrard has a proven track record of achieving clinical and service excellence across the healthcare continuum. He comes to HealthSouth with more than 15 years of management experience, most recently serving as chief operating officer at Hutcheson Medical Center in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia.
“We are excited to have Eric on board as the leader of our team in Martin,” said Terry Maxhimer, HealthSouth’s regional president. “He shares the commitment to high-quality outcomes and patient care that are not only important to us, but most important to the family members of the patients we treat.”
Garrard holds a master’s degree in health administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from the University of South Alabama.
“I’m very excited about moving to Martin with my family and working with the incredible team of professionals at Cane Creek,” Garrard states. “This is a wonderful facility with a rich history of providing excellent rehabilitative care to northwest Tennessee and southwest Kentucky for more than 20 years.”
