Abundant Life Assembly of God - Sharon

Posted: Friday, May 20, 2011 2:29 pm

Brother Bobby Peal opened our Mother’s Day service singing “I Want To Know About Jesus.” Melba Carson brought the lesson from Ephesians 1:7 which says in whom Jesus Christ we have our redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.
All of the ladies received a beautiful corsage for Mother’s Day. We had a drawing for three gift certificates for $10 each that were won by Shelley Byars, Della Freeman and Tracey Hagye. Phyllis Hampton read a lovely poem about mothers and then passed out copies of it to all the mother’s.
Guests were Candy Harris, Yvonne Warren, Sherry Harris, Jenny and Jeremy Ricketts, David and Tracey Hagye, John and Lacy Hagye.
We sang happy birthday to Patsy Baker and happy anniversary to Mary and Marshall Jones.
Hunter and Ashlyn Hagye helped lead “I Will Enter His Courts” and “If You’re Happy.” Mary led “He Brought Me Out” and “He Set Me Free.”
Prayer requests were made for the Lord to bless our fellowship hall which was damaged by the storm, Wilmetta Rivers’ daughters for a healing, Martha Kotarba for a good report from her doctor, Terry Baker’s parents need a healing, Tommie Hopkins for her loss, and Shirley and Terry Bynum a special unspoken prayer.
Candy Harris played and sang “We Are Standing On Holy Ground.”
Brother Bobby led “If I Could Hear My Mother Pray Again.” He took his message from Proverbs 30:31 who can find a virtuous mother. God is a personal God to mothers.
Mary led off the evening service with “Jesus Hold My Hand,” “The Lily Of the Valley” and “Keep On the Firing Line.” Brother Bobby led “Where the Soul Never Dies” and Mary sang “God Of the Mountain.”
He then turned to Jeremiah 29:ll for I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord. We adjourned with a prayer circle at the altar praying for needs.
Our next ladies meeting will be May 21 in the fellowship hall at 12:30 p.m.
