DSCC business workshop planned

A free workshop to help business owners understand the basics of selling their products to the government and private industry will be held at Dyersburg State Community College May 31.
The “Doing Business with Government - Government Contract-ing For Your Small Business” workshop will be held from 9-11 a.m. at the Tennessee Small Business Development Center on the DSCC campus.
Those who attend the workshop will learn how to pursue opportunities and will be provided technical resources to skillfully secure and perform contracts with the government and private industry.
Russell Toone, University of Tennessee Procurement Technical Assistance Center coordinator, will share information to get businesses set and prepared for federal government contracting as well as information on procurements available to small and disadvantage businesses.
Sharon McKinney, Tennessee Business Enterprise Resource Office jobs development specialist, will provide steps to doing business with Tennessee, including how to become a bidder and an e-supplier, steps to procurement registration and certification for market segmentation.
Saundra Jackson, West Tennessee Small Business Administration specialist, will be on hand to advise attendees on small business loan matters.
