Participants in the Bettie Graham Special Education Seminar Friday at the University of Tennessee at Martin can earn .6 Con-tinuing Education Units. The College of Education and Behavioral Sciences will offer the seminar from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. in Room 232-233 of Gooch Hall. The presenter will be Catherine Barnes. The fee for the CEUs is $10 and forms for requesting credit will be available at the seminar. Ms. Barnes is the director of Silver Circles Inc., which provides services and programs for students who require academic intervention. Among her programs are the Irlen Method for Scotopic Sensitivity Irlen Syndrome, interactive metronome therapy, listening therapy, psychological and educational evaluation and sensory profiles. She has also been involved as an Irlen screener and diagnostician since 1995. The morning session from 9 a.m.-noon will cover symptoms of Scotopic Sensitivity Irlen Syndrome and how these symptoms affect children. The afternoon session from 1-4 p.m. will cover strategies for working with children diagnosed with Scotopic Sensitivity Irlen Syndrome.
