A Dresden man stands accused of two crimes that happened in the same area of town just three days apart and involved the same victim. According to the first of two reports released by the Weakley County General Sessions Court, an officer was dispatched to 302 Linden St. in Dresden on June 3 in reference to an aggravated burglary complaint. According to the affidavit, the victim admitted that Dexter Wallace Sowell had broken into the back door of his apartment, assaulted him and went through his billfold looking for money. The victim allegedly had a bad scrape on his left shin and his glasses were broken. He admitted that two witnesses were with Sowell when he committed the act. A separate report stated that on Monday, June 6, an officer was dispatched to 301A Linden St. where the same victim allegedly stated that he had been assaulted by Sowell on the corner of Fuller Street and Park Street. According to the report, the officer noticed bruising along with blood on the victim’s face. Sowell faces charges of aggravated burglary and aggravated assault.
