Railroaders waiting
to find place, seeding

The Fulton Railroaders will play the waiting game tonight to see where they finish in the Ohio Valley League regular season standings.
The Railroaders (23-19) will finish either first or second, depending on the completion of tonight’s suspended game between Owensboro (23-18) and Marion. An Oiler victory would give O’boro the regular season league title and top seed in the upcoming OVL Tournament, while a Marion win would force a one-game playoff between Fulton and Owensboro Tuesday night to decide that spot.
The postseason tourney will begin either Tuesday or Wednesday with the No. 1 seed playing at No. 4 Tradewater in the first of a best-of-three series. The No. 2 seed will play at Owensboro in a similar setting.
Fulton beat Tradewater 2-1 Friday and edged Martin 5-4 on Saturday to finish its regular season.
Joe Mike and Tyler O’Daniel both drove in two runs for the Railroaders in Saturday’s win.
Union City High School alum Colton Speed played in Friday’s game, but not in Saturday’s.

Tennessee linebacker
arrested over weekend

No other details were available Sunday.
In a statement, school spokesman Jimmy Stanton said the program was aware that Johnson was involved in a situation overnight Sunday. He says school officials are looking into it.

Shelbyville on list
for indoor football

SHELBYVILLE (AP) — The president of the Ultimate Indoor Football League says he plans to visit Shelbyville to scout the city for an expansion franchise.
Andrew Haines told the Shelbyville Times-Gazette he likely will look at the town’s Calsonic Arena as a location for league games.
It’s an indoor facility on the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration grounds and is used for various equine and other events year-round.
The league has teams in Canton, Ohio; Pikeville, Ky.; Fort Myers, Fla.; Huntington, W.Va.; Johnstown, Pa.; Rome, Ga., and Saginaw, Mich.
The paper said a proposal is being prepared to rent the arena for games in 2012.
