Fulton earns berth
in OVL title round
Mikee Moore raced home with the winning run in the bottom of the ninth on an infield chopper Wednesday night to give the Fulton Railroaders a 3-2 victory over Marion and a spot in the Ohio Valley League championship series.
The Railroaders now await the winner of the series between top-seed Owensboro and No. 4 Tradewater in a best-of-three set, scheduled to start Friday night. Tradewater beat Owensboro 7-3 Wednesday to square their best-of-three series at 1-all and force a deciding game tonight.
Fulton will be the host team in the opener of Friday’s championship series if Owensboro wins tonight.
If Tradewater pulls the upset vs. the Oilers this evening, Fulton would be at home for Games 2 and 3 of the set Saturday and Sunday.
Moore went 3-for-5 in addition to scoring the game-winner for the Railroaders in Wednesday’s first-round clincher.
Joe Mike went a perfect 4-for-4 in the Railroader attack.
Union City’s Colton Speed went 0-for-5 and played the entire game in right field for the Fulton squad.
