GREEN GIANT – Chloe Hammonds, daughter of Michael and Kim Hammonds of Dresden, grew this whopper from just a small plant presented to her at school. Third-graders of Dresden Elementary this past school year were given cabbage plants by Bonnie Plant Farms. Every year one student from each state is awarded $1,000 for the biggest cabbage. Hammonds has harvested her cabbage and it weighed in at 12 pounds. She thanks her grandmother, Faye McEntire, and Miracle Grow for the success of her cabbage. She will be submitting her entry to the cabbage contest this week.
