Weekly Wingfoot golf goes down to the wire The foursome of Wanda Brown, Janice Hanna, Jill Emmons and Joyce Bell teamed to fire a 3-under-par total and win the weekly Goodyear Wingfoot Ladies League outing on Tuesday. Two teams tied for second at 2-under-par, bringing out out the scorecards to determine runnerup honors. That standing went to the combination of Cheryl Brundige, Tina Powell, Carol Potts and Leatha Barnes. Brown was the closest to the pin, both on holes 12 and 17. The ladies play every Tuesday evening at Wingfoot. For more information, contact workers at the course at 885-9922. UTM season tickets available for football Football season tickets for the University of Tennessee at Martin Skyhawks went on sale today. The Skyhawks will host five home games at Hardy M. Graham Stadium. The home opener is set for Thursday, Sept. 15. against Union (Ky.) College. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. The Skyhawks will host Murray State on Sept. 22 with kickoff set for 6 p.m. Other UTM home games include Tennessee Tech (Oct. 1), Austin Peay (Oct. 8) for Homecoming, and Southeast Missouri (Oct. 29). Season ticket prices start as low as $45 for general admission. Bench back seats are $70 each and chair seats are $83. Individual game tickets are $18 for chair seats and $16 for bench back seats. General admission tickets are $10 each while student general admission tickets are $5 each. A special business and industry package returns this season. Skyhawk gal hoops will teach shooting The UT Martin women’s basketball program will hold a shooting and player development showcase from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Kathleen and Tom Elam Center on campus. The showcase is for players ages 10-17. The cost is $45 per player and lunch will be provided. All players will also receive a showcase T-shirt. The showcase will feature shooting stations, shooting workouts with and without the Shoot-A-Way Gun, one-on-one to five-on-five games and individualized workouts. The UT Martin women finished this past season with a 21-11 worksheet and the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament championship. Vol DB has surgery; return before opener KNOXVILLE (AP) — Tennessee sophomore defensive back Dontavis Sapp has had surgery to repair his fractured left ring finger. A spokesman for the Volunteers says Sapp injured his finger during practice on Monday and underwent surgery on Monday night. Sapp is expected to return to practice within a week or two.
