Garden event slated

There will be a meeting of the Victory Gardeners group Saturday at 9 a.m. at Union City Housing Authority parking lot at 1490 East Main St. in Union City.
Members of the group will be breaking ground and “putting in” a demonstration garden. Refreshments will be offered and all with an interest in learning more about family gardening possibilities or in lending their expertise to the undertaking are welcome to attend, a spokesman said. The group will also be happy to accept donations of good used gardening tools. These may be brought to the housing authority office or donors and others with an interest in the project may call 885-0579 for more information.
