Tractor Supply to support 4-H

Posted: Tuesday, September 20, 2011 8:03 pm

The National 4-H Council announced Thursday that Tractor Supply Company will continue to support 4-H programs through its fall 4-H Paper Clover Campaign.
The nationwide, in-store fund raiser will benefit state and local 4-H programming in each of the communities where a TSC store is located.
“The Obion County 4-H program has approximately 1,450 members, county wide,” said Obion County University of Tennessee Extension agent Una Johnson.
“Through 4-H programming, 4-H’ers develop essential life skills such as responsibility, ethical decision making, citizenship, leadership, achieving goals, team work, communicating, making healthy lifestyle choices and building relationships. 4-H’ers have also developed skills designed to allow them to succeed in the work force. Teachers and principals have played huge roles in the success of this program.”
The fall 2011 4-H Paper Clover Campaign will take place Wednesday-Oct. 2, ending at the start of National 4-H Week. Shoppers at the Union City Tractor Supply store will have the opportunity to support 4-H in Obion County by purchasing paper clovers for just $1 at checkout. All funds raised will be donated to 4-H, and will support 4-H youth development program activities in Obion County.
“The 4-H Tractor Supply Paper Clover fundraiser continues to be an incredibly impactful local event, hosted on a national platform,” said Donald T. Floyd Jr., president and CEO of National 4-H Council. “We are honored to have a tremendous partnership that helps facilitate the support of 4-H clubs and programs in the communities of more than 1,000 Tractor Supply Company and Del’s Feed and Farm Supply stores.”
Now entering its second year, the TSC 4-H Paper Clover Campaign has provided nearly $500,000 to local 4-H programs across the country. The effort has provided direct support for local camps, after-school programs and other activities, and has granted scholarships to these events that youth can explore their interests in everything from animal science to robotics.
This year, funds donated during the national campaign will be tracked online and updated daily with the top 10 performing states and stores. Visit www.tractorsupply.com/4H, for more information on the 2011 4-H Paper Clover Campaign and to view the donation tracker.
