‘Pop’ weekly winners
fire 8-under score

Poplar Meadows Country Club had its weekly scramble Wednesday with the winning team shooting 8-under par.
The winning team included Ron Cooper, Rodger Tanner, Ty Tanner, Bart White and Jody Kizer.
Finishing in second at 7-under par was the team of Chuck Doss, Skipper White, Phillip White, Tracy Bruff and Donnie Etheridge.
The scramble, which is held each Wednesday, is $10 for members and $15 for non-members and includes dinner.
Participants are asked to call 885-3650 by 3 p.m. each Wednesday to sign up.

for tennis tourney

Pairings have been set for the Northwest Tennessee Open Tennis Tournament, scheduled for Friday-Sunday at the Union City Courts adjacent to Union City Middle School.
Pairings include:
Friday
6:30 p.m. — B. Dahnke vs. D. Lohram, A. Bateman vs. G. Shanklin, K. Butler vs. T. London, T. Heintzelman vs. P. Fenwick.
8 p.m. — B. McCall/B. Dahnke vs. A. Bateman/D. Lohram.
Saturday
10 a.m. — C. Sands/B. Phelps vs. L. Crowder/J. Williams, B. Flatt vs. M. Jaeger

Golf outing aids
McDonald House

A golf tournament benefitting The Ronald McDonald House of Memphis will be held Oct. 1 at Wingfoot Golf Course in Union City.
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., and the shotgun start is slated for 9 a.m. The awards banquet will be at 2:30 p.m.
Forms and payments should be mailed to Ronald McDonald House at 535 Alabama Ave., Memphis 38105. Those wishing to enter can also do so online at www.rmhc-memphis.org/fundraisingevents.
 
Twin Cities chamber
sets up links event

The Twin Cities Chamber of Commerce Golf Scramble will be held Oct. 7 at Fulton Country Club.
Lunch begins at 11 a.m., followed by tee-off at noon.
Team entry is $200.
