Health science day slated at University of Memphis

The Messenger 10.19.11

The University of Memphis will host a Pre-Health Sciences Day Oct. 26 from 1-5 p.m. in the University Center on campus.
An information fair will run from 1-4 p.m. in the UC Ballroom, followed by a panel discussion from 4:15-5 p.m. in the UC Bluff Room.
The event is free and open to the public.
Prospective students will have a chance to meet with admissions officials in the areas of allopathic medicine, audiology, biomedical engineering, chiropractic medicine, clinical laboratory sciences, dental hygiene, dentistry, dietetics, epidemiology, exercise and sport science, graduate health sciences, health administration, health informatics and information management, health outcomes and policy research, health promotion, integrated biomedical sciences, nursing, occupational therapy, optometry, osteopathic medicine, pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacology, pharmacy, physical therapy, physician assistant, public health, radiology, speech language pathology, and sports science and rehabilitation.
Representatives from the following schools and programs will be on hand to answer questions: Baptist College of Health Sciences, Bethel University, Christian Brothers University, Lincoln Memorial Univer-sity-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine, Logan College of Chiro-practic, Minority Health International Research Training Program, Regional Medical Center at Memphis (The Med) Volunteer Programs, Southern College of Optometry, Tennessee Institute for Pre-Professionals Summer Research Scholars Program, University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, University of Memphis, University of Tennessee Health Science Center, U.S. Navy and VA Volunteer Programs.
Parking will be available in the Zach Curlin garage adjacent to the University Center at U of M.
