OC coach Jackson
undergoes surgery

Obion Central head football coach Shawn Jackson underwent surgery Wednesday in a Memphis hospital.
Jackson, who spent nine days recently at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City battling diverticulitis, said beforehand Wednesday he would have an “abcess removed from his pelvis” during the procedure.
Attempts to reach the coach this morning for an update on his condition were not successful.
The coach is not expected to be in attendance Friday night when the sixth-ranked Rebels play at 1-7 Haywood.

Rebel event to aid
softball, cheerers

The Obion Central softball and cheerleading squads will sponsor their annual steak and shrimp dinner Saturday night.
The dinner will be served in the OCHS commons area, but carryouts will be available, too.
The menu will consist of a 12-ounce ribeye, five large grilled shrimp, baked potato, salad, rolls and homemade dessert. Patrons can choose from tea or water to drink.
Cost of the dinner — which will be served from 5:30-8:30 — is $15.
Babysitting in the school gymnasium will be available with children served hotdogs, chips and a drink.
For further information, call Tommy Victory at 536-4688.
