The Kentucky State Police is investigating the escape of an inmate from the Fulton County Detention Center in Hickman, Ky.

About 5:20 a.m. today (Saturday), the Fulton County Detention Center notified the Kentucky State Police to report an inmate had walked away from the facility. Joseph Ray Powell, a 35-year-old white male, was serving time for second-degree robbery and fraudulent use of credit cards over $100.

He is described as a white male, 5 ft 10 in, 170 lbs, with blue eyes and brown hair. He was wearing  gray sweatpants and  a gray sweatshirt. Anyone with information on his whereabouts can contact the Kentucky State Police at 1-800-222-5555.
