Rodehaver steps down
as Greenfield coach

Jason Rodehaver has stepped down as football head coach at Greenfield High School.
Rodehaver informed school officials of his intentions on Monday and later told his team.
A Fulton High School graduate, Rodehaver took over at Greenfield from Hal Blackman in 2007.
His first season was his best, the Yellowjackets posting a 5-5 record. That season, Greenfield lost its first two games but then won four straight.
Greenfield finished the 2011 season with an 0-10 record and has now lost 16 of its last 17 games.
Rodehaver was 13-37 in his tenure.

Devilettes included
in Westview play day

South Fulton’s girls’ basketball team will participate in Westview’s play day scrimmage Saturday at the Elam Center in Martin.
Using five courts, teams from throughout West Tennessee and western Kentucky will scrimmage in one-hour sessions throughout the day, the first game on each court starting at 8 a.m. and the last games tipping off at 5 p.m.
The Red Devilettes will scrimmage three times, beginning 8 a.m. against South Gibson on Court 5. SF will move over to Court 2 for a noon match-up with West Carroll and will close its day at 2 p.m. against Big Sandy on Court 3.

Reelfoot Road Race
now in 33rd year

The 33rd annual Reelfoot Road Race will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, beginning at Union City High School.
Entry fee for the 5K and 10K event is $14 in advance (by Tuesday) and $17 on race day. Team rates for schools with three or more entries are $11 in advance and $13 on race day.
Proceeds from the event support the cross country teams at Union City and Obion County Central high schools.
There are expanded age groups for men and women in both the 10K, the oldest such race in Tennessee, and the 5K with trophies going to the top three runners in each group.
More information can be found at the event’s website, www.reelfootroadrace.com. Fliers, with entry information, are available at businesses throughout Union City, including Health Quest and Doctors Clinic. Participants can register online at www.active.com.
 
SF youth hoops
sets sign-up date

South Fulton will hold its youth league basketball sign-ups Sunday from 1-4 p.m. in the SFHS gym lobby.
Youth in grades 3-6 are eligible and encouraged to participate, according to organizers.
The registration fee is $30 per child and each youngster must have a parent present at the sign-up.
A second registration is set for Sunday, Nov. 13, during the same hours at South Fulton High School.

after three seasons

Jim Glover has stepped down as the football head coach at McNairy Central.
A McNairy graduate, he was 7-23 in three seasons, including a 2-8 mark this season.
