CP service set
Members of Union City Cumberland Presbyterian Church on the corner of East Church and South Home streets will begin Sunday services at the church with prayer at 9:45 a.m. for the congregation, the worship service, the church and the nation.
Sunday school will follow at 10, with worship at 11. The latter will be broadcast live on WOBT-TV.
Holy Grounds coffee fellowship with coffee, doughnuts and good conversation will take place at 10:40. A nursery is provided for services.
Sunday’s speaker will be Clifford Barna, who is a coach at Bethel University in McKenzie and is the campus chaplain. His text will be Luke 12:49-53 and his sermon is titled “Division.”
The congregation’s Thanksgiving supper will be at 5 p.m. Sunday.
Hat Rally planned
The mission department of New Hope Free Will Baptist Church, located at 1003 East Vine St., will sponsor a Seven-Up Hat Rally Sunday at 4 p.m. Seven women will speak for seven minutes on ‘The Seven-Ups of a Good Church.”
The following messages are planned:
• “Wake Up” with Regina Turner of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church;
• “Stand Up” with Frances Kearney of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church;
• “Speak Up” with Maybeline Hurt of Right Path Ministries;
• “Fire Up” with Shirley Coleman of Friendship Free Will Baptist Church;
• “Grow Up” with Doris Bass of New Hope Free Will Baptist Church;
• “Build Up” with Donna Lorhorn of Brown Chapel A.M.E. Church;
• “Caught Up” with Regina Vinson of Greater Victory Free Will Baptist Church
A delicious dessert buffet will be served. Tickets are $7.
“Put on your prettiest (or funniest) hat and come and share an afternoon of fun and fellowship. Ladies who want to march in the opening ‘Hat Parade,’ should bring a written description of their hat for the master of ceremonies,” a spokesman said. To lead revival
Chip Davis, pastor of Lake Road Baptist Church near Union City, will be leading revival services at Blessed Hope Baptist Church Sunday through Wednesday.
Sunday morning services will include Sunday school at 10, followed by the revival service at 11. Sunday evening services will include discipleship training at 5, followed by the revival service at 6. Monday through Wednesday services will begin at 7 p.m.
Special music will be provided at each service. The Rev. Terry Council is pastor at Blessed Hope.
Revival to begin
David’s Chapel Baptist Church, located at 172 State Route 925 near Hickman, Ky., will host revival services Sunday through Wednesday. The Rev. Ron Cox of South Fulton Baptist Church, will be the evangelist.
Hershel Title will lead the music and Sherry Johnson will be pianist.
The Rev. Charles Southerland and the congregation invited the community to attend.
The Rev. Tommy Roper of Star of Bethelehm Assembly of God will be the evangelist at revival services Monday through Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Wayside Church on Highway 22 West near Hornbeak. The community is invited to attend.
