Karen Louise White of Union City received a master of library and information science degree during recent commencement exercises at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg.
Southern Miss President Martha Saunders conferred undergraduate, graduate and specialist’s degrees at the ceremony, held at Reed Green Coliseum. U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker of Mississippi served as commencement speaker for both ceremonies.

Several Obion County residents were among students who received degrees from the University of Tennessee at Martin during the recent fall commencement held in the Kathleen and Tom Elam Center on the UT Martin campus.
The students who received undergraduate degrees, listed by hometown, were:
• Hornbeak — Sara Joan Douglas, Ty Allen Walley and Rachel Meredith Roberson.
• Kenton — Megan Carol Smith, Jessica Dawn Dvorak and Ryan Scott McMackin.
• South Fulton — Adam Howard Barker, Jon William Meacham, Dishekia Levesta Sellers, Bethany Mariah Seratt, Jon Garrett Fields and Melissa Rae Jackson.
• Troy — Cory L. Robertson, Megen Leanne Haskins, Mason Brent Storey, Mary Elizabeth Hedge and Ashley Meredyth Moore.
• Union City — Hailey Lauren Woodward, Selena Renee Davis, Casey Lloyd Norris, Brandi Leigh Gwaltney, John Allen Rogers, James Bryant Cruce, Anne Westbrooks Sanner, April M. Counsell, April May Ring, Lisa Michelle Crum, Michael Ray Edwards,  Trevor Harte Smith, Michael Stephen Yandell, Layton Brice Scarbrough and William Brooks Taylor.
Among those who received graduate degrees were:
• Kenton — Megan Hunter Poore.
• Rives — Aaron Jotham Caldwell.
• South Fulton — Chasity Nicole Conner Batts, Jessica Kim Curtis and James Chadwick Malray.
