MLK luncheon planned at DSCC | Dyersburg State Community College, Greg Duckett

Dyersburg – Dyersburg State Community College and the Dyersburg/Dyer County Chamber of Commerce will host the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. luncheon at noon Jan. 13 in the E. H. Lannom, Jr. gymnasium on the Dyersburg campus.
Greg Duckett of Memphis will speak at the luncheon.
He is senior vice president and corporate counsel with Baptist Memoril Health Care System and also serves as a member of the Tennessee state election.  
Prior to joining the Baptist Memorial Health Care System in January 1992, Duckett worked as chief administrative officer for the city of Memphis.  
He currently serves as vice chairman of the Tennessee Board of Regents, the governing body of state’s higher education system.
Duckett currently serves on the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis and has served the community in many volunteer capacities, including  board of directors, Memphis Branch, President 2001 AXA Liberty Bowl Festival Association; hearing officer for the Board of Professional Responsibility; board of directors for Tennessee Hospital Association, and vice chair of the Memphis Redbirds Foundation.
From 1988 to 1991, Duckett served as director of Memphis Housing and Community Development.
He was state counsel to United States Senator Albert Gore, Jr., from 1985 to 1987. He was selected to serve on the Clinton-Gore transition team, evaluating approximately 40 agencies as part of Housing and Urban Development and working on personnel issues.
Duckett holds a B.A. from Oberlin College and a doctorate of jurisprudence from the Memphis State University School of Law.
Tickets for the luncheon, which must be purchased in advance, are $10 each.
They are on sale until 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the DSCC business office located in the Eller building on the Dyersburg campus and at the Dyersburg/Dyer County Chamber of Commerce.
