CP sevices set
The Rev. Mike Osment, Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City chaplain, will fill the pulpit Sunday at Union City Cumberland Presbyterian Church for the morning worship service at 11. His sermon is “A True Balance of Power,” based on Matthew 21:23-27.
The church is located at 631 East Church St.

Valentine event set
A Valentine banquet is planned Feb. 10 and 11 at 6 p.m. at Union City Second Baptist Church, located at 831 Everett Blvd. Special guest will be Kay DeKalb Smith, a Christian comedian, singer and speaker.
Tickets will be $15 each for the meal and entertainment.
Call the church office for tickets and information at 885-5223.
The Rev. Eddie Mallonee is pastor.

Bible study begins
Wednesday noon Bible study will resume its regular schedule next week at Mt. Zion CME Church in Union City. The theme will be “What Does the Word Say,” according to the church pastor and study leader the Rev. Darrell Turner. The public is invited to attend each week.

Revival planned
There will be a three-night revival at All Nations Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ at 417 Harrison St. in Union City beginning Sunday and continuing through Tuesday at 6:30 each evening.
The Rev. Zebudiah Rice of Open Door Church of God in Christ in Dyersburg will be the speaker.
“Come out and hear a great man of God,” says the pastor, the Rev. Willie Burnett.

Music classes offered
The  Studio at Second will be offering education in music and the arts as a ministry at Union City Second Baptist Church, with classes starting the week of Feb. 12. This will be done in a Christian environment, connecting people to a world of creativity, communication and self-discipline, according to a spokesman.
Private instruction will be offered in drums, bass guitar, rhythm and electric guitar, piano and voice. Art classes will also be offered.

Service time set
Sunday worship services at Mt. Zion CME Church in Union City are at 2 p.m., according to the pastor, the Rev. Darrell Turner, who said there has been some confusion over the time of the gathering. The public is invited to attend.

Selling dinners
PEOC Ministries at 2131 Nailling Drive in Union City will be selling chitterling dinners, which will include cole slaw, spaghetti, bread and dessert for $7. The Mothers’ Board will sponsor the event from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday for pick-up meals.
“The Mothers Board would love to see you come out to support them,” a spokesman said.

To honor preacher
 Vine Street Church of  Christ will celebrate 41 years of service for their preacher, Graham Q. McGill, Sunday. Terry Edmonds will be the speaker for the day.
A fellowship meal will be served following morning worship and the appreciation service will begin at 3 p.m.

Club to meet
The Christian Widows Club will meet today at 4 p.m. and will continue those sessions each Thursday afternoon at the blue building next to Sav-a-Lot grocery store on East Main Street in Union City.
The site is across the street from Rawls Funeral Home.
Those attending are reminded to bring a munchable treat for a “snack-luck” time at the meeting.

Ttitled: “Created With Class” and is based on Psalm 8:3-9 and Ephesians 2:10.
Sunday night will be the fifth Sunday church family gathering featuring a chili and soup supper with potluck sandwiches and desserts. Supper starts at 5 p.m. and visitors will be welcome.
